Brent: Before going full-time with art, I used to take portions of cheese from larger bags and put them into smaller bags for ten hours a day. As much satisfaction as one can derive from such an occupation, bigger-to-smaller-bag-cheese-portioner just wasn’t the career for me.
From this week's Quit Your Day Job.

Yes, yes, yes! Okay, so maybe the 10 hours a day of cheese shuffling were paying the bills . . . but where was the joy in each day? How much did that job allow him to use his creative talents? How did it make him a happier, healthier (and I do believe there is a real relationship between happy and healthy) person for himself and his loved ones?
If I have a New Year's Resolution this year, it's to do more things every single day that give me joy and nurture my soul. (I started trying to do this right around the last week in December and do you know, I already feel better and am reacting with people around me in a happier, more positive way?) Amazing.
Brent, I feel your pain.
::lmao:: oh very nice!
